Electric Meat Grinder vs. Manual Meat Grinder

Many people struggle with the decision of buying an electric meat grinder, or a manual meat grinder.  There are a specific set of questions you should ask yourself to find the answer.  Both work well, and are effective.  Consider the following when trying to decide what grinder to purchase.

Cost - If money isn't really an issue, go with an electric grinder.  You can typically purchase a solid unit for $100 to $500 dollars.  If it is an issue, a manual grinder may be the solution.  You can purchase a manual grinder for as low as $48 dollars

Time - A manual meat grinder will take longer to process meat than an electric grinder.  Most electric grinders are rated based on how many lbs. a minute they can process.  However, you can definitely give your arms a workout with a manual grinder :).

Amount - If you are the casual grinder, a manual meat grinder may be all you need.  Most cooks, pet owners (who make their own pet food) can use a manual grinder just fine.  But if you are a hunter, and want to process your own game, an electric grinder is definitely in order.

Hopefully these 3 factors have helped you reach a decision.  To make your purchase, check out our store here.
